For the illustrious upcycler

Recycling is so out. Upcycling is uptrending.

According to Wiki, Upcycling is the process of converting waste materials or useless products into new materials or products of better quality or a higher environmental value.  Now, these jewels won’t necessarily improve the environment as much as they are a definite upgrade in quality compared to your old department store costume jewelry.

Glass pearls, rhinestones, Swarovski crystals, broaches and delicate bows are just some of the materials Dana Saylor uses when she’s upcycling vintage jewelry. She combines pieces together in the most unique way which really set these costume jewels apart from any others.

Her pieces are some of the highest in taste, quality and craftsmanship I’ve ever seen. She even has pieces (see above earrings) that are original Trifari’s dating back to the 1930’s. You can see the markings on the back!

So if you’re in the market for a fine piece of jewelry for a special lady this Christmas, don’t spend exorbitent amounts of your hard earned dollars at Kay or Jared. I mean seriously, how obnoxious are those commercials?  Let your loved ones know how much you appreciate them with a hand made and genuinely unique piece of jewelry.
