Our dear friend Alix came to me with this gorgeous estate sale find: a head to toe embellished sheath dress dating back to most likely the late 1930’s. JEALOUS. The entire dress is beaded on one layer of tulle, so it came with a few holes and tears. Not to mention a mysterious splotch of something along the sequins on the hem to mend! We fixed her all up and made a simple silk slip dress to go underneath for her art opening this weekend at the East Aurora Fall Art Walk!
I reinforced the stress points on the dress by grafting tulle under the fabric with invisible thread. To cover the bleached spot, I took sequins from the hem and applied them on top of the stained ones.
Tres magnifique, no?
