Mattie’s custom beach wedding gown is made of ivory crepe, nude illusion netting and subtly beaded rose lace fabric that was cut into appliques. The dramatic open back and plunging cutouts are truly one of a kind and provide a sexy and daring look!
Without sounding too cheesy fangirl – this lady is really special. Referred to us by another custom bride (thanks, Jordan!) Mattie traveled from North Carolina to have her custom dress made. Her mom, Mel, also traveled to Buffalo but from Indiana. How lucky are we?! These two amazing women made such treks to have ME make her a dress!?! Truthfully, I still get a little choked up when I think about her because this wasn’t something that I took lightly. So we made an entire weekend out of the two trips she came up!
To begin, we had a phone consultation then I did some sketches and mailed them to her along with some fabric samples. We spoke again about the details, she sent me her measurements that she and her fiance took using our handy video tutorial and I began my work! We set up fittings on Friday when they arrived, I worked on Saturday during the day, then we had another fitting on Sunday before they left. In between the work, we played! We took them out to dinner, to see the sights, including a Sabres game and Hatchets and Hops axe throwing! Mattie won. She’s basically great at everything she tries.
I understand this situation is not likely to happen again – but I’m SO HAPPY that it did at least once in my life. We’re already planning a reunion! Getting to know our brides is always such a gift, but becoming friends with them is the goal!
