Colleen grandmother’s heirloom lace wedding dress transformation was a labor of love. Ali was over the moon when she got the call from childhood friend, Colleen, about reconstructing her grandmothers’ wedding dress for her big day! The dress was in great shape, with some minor stains and fit issues. We needed to come up with a way to make the dress fit across the back and shoulders while staying true to the style of the dress. We absolutely LOVED how the wildflower lace left a slight border at the neckline and sleeves (it’s the little things that get us going), so we wanted to mimic that elsewhere. It only seemed natural to find a complimentary, almost matching lace to create a lace panel across the back, as well as add to the sweep of the skirt to really make the dress uniquely Colleen’s!
