Andrea’s custom overlay lace beach dress was a very special creation for us. Her sister, local photographer and inspiring female business coach, Jenn Ayres is a friend. When Andrea reached out to us and told us her love story, we couldn’t wait to get started! The bride was marrying her longtime partner, after having a couple of kids, in Costa Rica.
She came to us with an image of a dress that she loved. The dress had a sheer lace overlay. Now, the original photo was quite editorial and seductive, which was a bit much for what we were going for.
We designed and adjusted a few things to make it fit and showcase Andrea’s style. First, the bustier underneath is comprised of many layers of fabric linings along with steel bones.
Next, we created the overskirt with a lace overlay that is a soft embroidered organic cotton which is see-through on top and lines on the bottom.
After, we added a little bit of embellishment and attached a subtly beaded waistband.
The dress’ modest train with a simple bustle is perfect for functionality. The buttons tied the whole look together with the v-neck back.
